OUR GRANDMOTHERS' STORIES & CRAFTING PHILOSOPHY

At Maayeka, we celebrate the heartfelt stories of grandmothers who infuse love and meticulous craftsmanship into every crocheted and knitted creation. Our mission is to preserve time-honored traditions, honor the artistry of handmade works, and offer distinctive, soulful pieces. We invite you to immerse yourself in the rich heritage, unwavering dedication, and remarkable skill embodied in each item, joining us in sustaining the cherished legacy of handcrafted excellence.

My name is Shaurya Agarwal

I’m a 17-year-old student currently studying at a boarding school, and I’ve always believed that the most beautiful things in life are handmade—with love, care, and a story behind them. I started this small business as a way to support and celebrate the incredible talent of my grandmother, whose hands have created the warmest, most detailed embroidery, crochet, and knitted pieces I've ever seen. She's been crafting since before I was born, and I’ve grown up watching her create magic with just a needle and some yarn.

I’m an observant and confident person who loves to read, talk, and connect with new people. This business is not just a shop—it's a bridge between generations, a tribute to tradition, and a platform for my grandmother’s artistry to shine. Every item we offer is handmade with love, and by supporting us, you're not only getting a unique piece, but also helping a grandmother feel seen, valued, and proud.

Thank you for being here—it means the world to both of us.

LAXMI DUDANI

Nani Ma, my grandmother, is a beacon of creativity and dedication. At 70 years young, she continues to inspire us with her boundless energy and exceptional talent. Her journey into the world of handmade artistry began decades ago, where she mastered the intricate crafts of embroidery and crochet. Every piece she creates tells a story of tradition, patience, and love.

Her craftsmanship is not just about creating beautiful items; it’s about preserving the rich heritage of hand-embroidery and crochet that she holds dear. Each product, whether it's the gloves she knit for me as a kid or the napkins that she's embroidered reflects her passion and the countless hours she pours into her work.

Through this platform, we are proud to showcase her extraordinary skills and offer her unique creations to the world. By supporting her work, you are embracing a legacy of artisanal excellence and empowering a remarkable woman whose hands continue to weave magic.
